Data Integration and Interfaces
An open API and separate modules and extensions make i-doit the control room of your data center operation. Once all configurations have been set, they can be made available to all other processes for further processing, making the manual entry and maintenance of system data such as hostname, IP, software, etc. unnecessary in the ITSM processes Availability, Performance, Risk, Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management. One of i-doit’s great advantages is that it goes beyond the mere forwarding of data and provides a number of ways to capture data, for example by automatic scans, inventory, discovery and through the API.
i-doit is a Configuration Management System (CMS)
Large organizations often use several distributed CMDBs. One of the most common reasons cited is the lack of specialization among the CMDBs. Aside from VMs, servers and operating machines, assets are very different in kind. Industry-specific applications and other assets often have quite idiosyncratic features. i-doit’s generic architecture enables the mapping of industry blueprints on the one hand and the combination of several CMDBs into a top-level CMS (Configuration Management System) on the other.
